Attention New Exeter Freshmen 2009!!!

<p>hahaha.good for you exand (a.k.a person i have never talked to before.haa :P).. :D </p>

<p>GOOO BIG READ!
haha. @ istoleurnose</p>

<p>hahaha.we've got more than ice cream and cookies.. :]]
(mwuhahaha)</p>

<p>Nahh .... well kind of but I still would've chosen Andover or Exeter... Exeter is soo uptight with their rules and clothes. The campus was too small for me too. </p>

<p>But I did get into Andover one of my top choices</p>

<p>i don't mean to be attacking or anything, but before you all start going crazy, BEWARE
I'm a part of Exeter's class of '12 and when we first got our acceptances and decided that we were going to go to Exeter, we did the exact same thing--we created a group, told everyone coming next year to join.
Over the summer, it got kind of out of hand. Some of the new students started being obnoxious all over facebook, adding all of the students who already attended, and having intense conversations on the facebook group discussion board thing about "Who's the SEXIEST?" and stuff like that. Hopefully you all won't get that crazy, but a lot of the people who were involved in that created a reputation for themselves even before they showed up at the school itself. When you meet some of the people you meet online in PERSON, you realize that they're not the person you thought they were and it's extremely awkward.
Adding current students before you show up at the school can also go either way. Some of the students will think, "Oh, new preps! Yay!" and start happy wall-to-walls with you, but others will find it creepy that people they don't even know are adding them.
Be careful, and remember that whatever you do on the group is visible to everyone. Everyone as in teachers who have facebook, upperclassmen, and prospective students. You don't want to destroy your reputation before you even have one.</p>

<p>On a brighter and less "RAWRINTIMIDATION" note, congratulations on getting in! :D</p>

<p>I just read my last post and erm...wow I sound uptight. (As TIGER says Exonians are)</p>

<p>Oh good lord. But we're too uptight with CLOTHES? Really, now?
Guys look about 50x better dressed in a collared shirt and ties all the time. It's great. We get to mess around with their ties after classes too.
And girls hardly have a dress code, so YAY FOR US.
Our campus is pretty darn big. We don't need an out of town unless we're leaving like a ten mile radius of the school or spending the night away, so we can pretty much go anywhere we can get to on foot. It probably takes a good 20 minutes to walk from one end of the campus (football fields to Main Street (a dorm)-ish?) and I've never thought, "Oh dear, my school is far too small." I don't see how you could've thought that the campus was too small.</p>

<p>GO BIG RED.
I think the highlight of Fall Term must've been when we crushed Andover's Varsity Football team on their own turf. :]</p>

<p>Maybe we should just change the group to people who plan to/do attend Exeter from CC. We're all from CC anyways.</p>

<p>...Andover is above Exeter right now in my mind...</p>

<p>Yeeeuh there we go benveolent... </p>

<p>@icklerockness: See what happens when you attend Exeter (;</p>

<p>and for me I dunno the dress code at Exeter is a bit too uptight for me. I can't put on a tie for my life and I wake up late like I go to school like right on time. So... waking up + putting on a tie and a suit or w.e. = disaster and late for class.</p>

<p>How hard is it to put on a tie?</p>

<p>Its pretty hard :x Whenever I play at the school concert or something I have to ask someone in my class to tie my tie for me :( ... (My mother and my grandmother whom I live with both don't know how to tie a tie. )</p>

<p>Aw... I'm sorry. :( You could practice over the summer? It's not too bad, I learned in 5th grade, you just have to practice.</p>

<p>Did anyone get a gift card/coupon for the bookstore with their acceptance package? I thought I read/heard somewhere that it was coming but there wasn't one in our package/folder.</p>

<p>Maybe they send it after you send in your deposit money? Then they can save by not sending it to all the people who chose another school.</p>

<p>that would be cool at least so that we can buy stuff at revisit day :D</p>
