What songs were they and from what show? Just out of curiousity.

jesseeinstein - check your PM's

im having trouble coming up with audition material that's unique. im thinking about doing "joy of motherhood" from Honk! and "Somewhere that's green" from Little Shop of Horrors.

definetly consider older material for auditions. Usually the auditors are impressed because they know you looked for the material, and it's sort of a breath of fresh of air for them because they probably haven't heard the song in a while.

songs:
"I Can Cook Too"--SUCH a fun song!! its a little more obscure too
"My Ship"--from Lady in the Dark-its a kurt weill(sp?)
"My Own Little Corner"--From Cinderella, never sang it for an audition

my monologue was from and anthology--I know! I know!

I only auditioned/applied at one school (nyu/steinhardt) for musical theatre because I jumped on the wagon a little too late

I'll be using this stuff for my videos for summer programs though

PrairieFlower, I've song I Can Cook Too for classes before, such a great song!

dramaddict- joy of mother is one of my fav songs. so fun. love Honk. but i'm not sure i would call it age appropriate....

My choices:

Songs:
"The Cuddles Mary Gave" - A Man of No Importance
"Cool" - West Side Story (Only for schools who asked for pre-1960 material)
"Where Was I When They Passed Out The Luck?" - Minnie's Boys

Monologues:
Todd - The Author's Voice
A. Wright Rushoff - Seven Dates With Seven Writers
Iago - Othello
Benedick - Much Ado About Nothing

I've always heard that you should have five monologues ready, and bring a few additional song choices. Good thing I did, at my CMU audition they asked to hear more songs.

I applied to NYU, UMich, CMU, UCLA, Emerson, BoCo, UArizona, Webster.

ok well i have a sam houston state university audition coming up and i've narrowed down my song choices to:
"Movie in my mind" - Miss Saigon
"Joy of Motherhood" - Honk!

for my monologue i am doing:
Elizabeth- Defying Gravity

I auditioned at OU with these monologues

Woman- Laughing Wild by Christopher Durang
Lady MacBeth (out damned spot scene)- Macbeth

collegebound87 - I love "The Cuddles Mary Gave" A Man of No Importance is just an incredible show, one of my very very favorites. those are all great choices! Have you heard from anywhere yet?
