Auditioning info?

I have a meeting about dual enrollment this Tuesday which will definitely clear up a lot of questions
Luckily I only need an English credit to graduate since I already took most of my classes
What I would do is take economics and other business classes in community college, but then again this is all an “if”

Shockingly, the other day I stumbled upon a woman from ABT and, since she was on her way out of the mall while I was heading in, she briefly mentioned they offer summer classes at the JKO school and she gave me her card.

Since I live exactly same distance from New York City and Philadelphia, location isn’t really an issue and the bus station is within walking distance from my house (we live in a development with a lot of commuters haha) getting there won’t be an issue.
The issue is, will JKO take someone who isn’t advanced at ballet for summer classes? Is that a good option? Or should I find something closer and not as high up on the talent scale? Same thing goes with the rock school, if they offer summer classes. I’m also looking at the Princeton ballet school since that is just a tad closer.

Actually now that I’m looking at the website it appears there aren’t really “classes” and any summer program requires an audition

I am not aware of the JKO School offering open classes during the summer. The Rock does offer open classes IIRC (they may be listed as Adult classes, maybe the JKO does the same).

Since you are the same distance from NYC and Philly I would suggest ballet classes at Steps with Emmilita Ettlin (Floor Barre and Beginning Intermediate Ballet), David Howard (Beg Int Ballet), Adv Int Ballet with Elena Kunikova, and Adv Beg Ballet with Katherine Sullivan.

Also, it looks like Finis Jhung is offering open classes at the Ailey Extension [Finis Jhung | Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater](http://www.alvinailey.org/aileyextension/faculty/finis-jhung) I would definitely look into those.

Don’t be afraid to take beginner classes. Beginner classes at this level are not the same as beginner classes at other levels. It is better you get back to the basics for now. And you can fill time in between classes with some fun classes at Steps as well.

So I’ve spoke to my guidance counselor and instead of dual enrollment I’m simply taking a senior leave in place of my electives, giving me and extra hour and a half.

I’m definitely going to look into those classes :D

Thank you all so much for you’re help! I really appreciate all the feedback!
