August 11-12 Meteor Shower

Did anybody get lucky enough to witness this? Please share your stories!

Here's mine:

I stayed up all night checking every once in a while to see the meteor shower, but came out empty-handed. I mean, I checked at like 3:00 AM eastern time, and saw nothing. Wasn't this supposedly the best time to catch a glimpse? sigh Are there any noises involved (sonic boom)? Please share anything that you can about the meteor shower. :)

According to the article I read, the shower is best seen from East Asia at around 3:00am (GMT +8). Maybe that’s just best time for East Asia though…
I’m hoping the sky clears up tonight ^^

I read a simlar article as well, but that time has passed hasn’t it? If I am wrong, apologize, I didn’t sleep lol! Oh well, best of luck to you! I saw orange streaks in my sky (like a rising/setting sun) from 3-6 AM eastern time. Was that it?

Oh! I meant the next 3:00 am that comes up, not the one that just passed (if that makes sense? I’m not sure which time zone you’re in)

Oh, okay that makes sense. Sorry! I live on the East Coast of the United States. I’m guessing that you live in East Asia, no? Have you seen this shower before? I mean, what color are you expecting? Is it slow clumps of orange that are visible for 3~ hours? Thanks for the help! Btw, what time is it where you live?

Yay! That means there’s still a (very slight) chance I can see it. I’ll be on the terrace tonight.

…the sunrise?

So I went out at 12:15AM EST, but it was cloudy, and apparently the moon was outshining some of them. Didn’t see anything =/.

I’m going out again tonight, but it’s really cloudy right now.

Jersey was cloudy all over, then? I couldn’t see a one last night. D:

I saw two meteors falling at 1 AM Pacific time.

I saw a few around 11 on the east coast. There were clouds covering the sky most of the night, and after 12 the moonlight started causing issues. There were brief pockets of good visibility. Make sure you look in the correct direction (I believe north-ish?).

Mosquitos were killing me though. Made it kind of miserable.

My response to this post:

Anybody here ever see the sun rise at 2-3 AM? Well, I haven’t, and I have pulled enough all nighters to know what the sky normally looks like at this hour outside my window. Thank you (end rant)

Hoping that I actually see something tonight! :)
