August 25 2018 SAT Results

They now have a banner alert on the site that says scores are posted throughout the day and that the student will get an e-mail when the scores are posted.

Score pending in Virginia

Anyone know the difference between “Pending” and “Complete”.

My son’s SAT with essay shows “Status: Complete” - which is what has been there since he took the test - I believe?

Okay, so now the “view your scores” link is provided right there at the top. No need to search for the dashboard or fiddle around to find the score page. This whole patience grasshopper isn’t working for me…but whatcha gonna do?

Wondering if the score release has a geographical pattern to it or if it is totally random? Do they release SAT results at the same time as subject tests? Pending here in Massachusetts.

I have not watched similar threads on SAT results in the past but this seems like a lot of kids that are pending? If so, then seems reasonable they are attempting to ensure scores are reasonable. Any idea of this process?

I skimmed a thread on the ACT a few weeks ago and as far as I recall, there were some disturbing stories of scores getting cancelled with little ability to dispute their decision.

I don’t have a pending message.

California here, just checked and my kid’s is still pending. Subject test only (chem) so not caught up with the issues around the general test.

Score pending. VA. Second time taking. Last time pending also (got scores exactly 1 week later).

Pending in PA

Score pending… from California. First timer SAT taker.

My D and nephew are both pending… We are in NC.

Location doesn’t seem to matter. We are in Virginia and students in our same town have gotten their scores, while my daughter is still pending.

Any thoughts on why? Sheer volume…screening kids who are new to the test verses repeat etc?

@yearstogo my son got his scores this morning. He did have a high score on this August SAT, but he also had a previous test with a high score. He had a 60 point increase over his previous test score…so not a huge increase. (But he’s very happy with his new score and very happy they didn’t cancel scores since he studied hard for this test.)

Score pending in California, 1st time SAT.

There is nothing unusual about scores being pending or being released throughout the day. This is very typical.

…And there’s the pending message.

I feel that it is poor customer service to not have the scores posted at the beginning of the day. If the College Board says the scores will be available on September 7, then they should load them throughout the night and have them all up by 7 or 8 am. This waiting all day in anticipation thing is not working for me.

The CB said that the scores for the non-essays are released on 9/7. They did not claim that they will be available at 5 a.m. or 7 a.m. or any specific time. I suppose to make you happy they can say they will release at 11:59 p.m. Feel free to contact them to make the request.

While you’re at it, perhaps you can also ask the IRS to mandate that all your future tax return be filed at 6 a.m on 4/15 for the rest of your life. so that you can spend all night finishing them up.

I am told that in the olden days before the magma cooled and while dinosaurs roamed the earth, kids had to wait by a thing called a mailbox until a person dressed in blue walked up at an unspecified date and time much later than 2 weeks after the test date with an envelope containing the scores.
