I was just wondering, if you brought your laptop to class to take notes and your battery starts to run out of charge, how avaliable are wall sockets in classrooms or lecture halls at USC? Obviously it differs from building to building, but is plugging in your computer an option?

What do most people do?

Can you tell us what major you're in? That would let some people chime in with some specifics about the buildings where you'll be taking classes.

Outlets can be hard to come by in many of the older buildings. Some classrooms only have 3 or 4 wall plates, and even those may not be in areas where students sit. You may have to arrive early to snag a seat near an outlet or share one with another student. Plan on sitting against a wall.

Other buildings are exceptionally well wired, and may even have outlets wired to every seat or desk. It really depends. You'll want to make sure you have a full battery for classes without good outlets, and maybe use break times to recharge in the library or back in the dorm.

I've heard the business school has outlets on every seat. Other than that, at least in the lecture halls I've had classes in, there are only about 8 outlets spread out throughout the entire hall (for 100+ students).

If you want an outlet... just get there early and plug your computer in.

I'm majoring in Engineering.

kap halls has the standard outlet. the slotted ones. i couldn't remember if its three prong. but there are outlets infront (the teacher's desk) and in the av box.
