Anyone know what the average grade Michigan engineers are getting in their college courses?
Average GPA is about a 3.1 in CoE, so between a B and a B+. As a general rule of thumb, prerequisite and major classes will usually have a median grade of B- or B, electives usually a B+, but maybe a B or an A-. There’s some classes that deviate from this though, you can find out more about specific classes by talking to people.
50% of incoming freshmen in COE have an ACT 33, meaning half of the incoming students have 34-36. Not everyone can get an A, considering the meritorious cohorts. Between 2.9 -3.1 seems about right.
Correction: Informed by registrar’s office, the graduating seniors, as of 2013, had an average GPA of ChemE - 3.36 , ME - 3.27 & CSE - 3.33.
