Average GPA, great test scores? Chance me, will chance back?

I think that depends on you. If you want to go there, apply. The application fee is like 80$ per school, and the chance to go to a dream school of yours should be worth more than that. On the other hand, Stanford and Yale are both SCEA, so its kinda sucks that you won’t get either the ability to get decisions back early+only get a miniscule chance boost. Personally, I’d apply to whichever one you like more for SCEA and the other for RD. On that note…

Stanford- reach
Yale-reach
UPenn-low reach
Cornell-match
Brown-low reach
JHU- match
Wash U St. Louis-Sorry, don’t know much about them
Duke- somewhere between reach and low reach

Your GPA is not amazing, but your EC’s are, so I think you’ll probably be fine. Good luck :)

Thanks for the feedback.
So, as far as I’ve gathered, the main disadvantages I have are:
My GPA
The fact that I’m Asian
Middle Class
School is noncompetitive

Unfortunately, these are all elements that are mostly out of my control.
Is there nothing else I can do?

@Sub:

“Is there nothing else I can do?” This is a multifaceted question. Of course there are things you can do. You are a qualified applicant, but there are only 6 spots for every 100 qualified applicants. Now, to get at the heart of your question, let me suggest some things ~~

When I look at your application, I don’t see anything you’ve DONE. I mean the word done in its most rugged form. What have you DONE?

Yes, you’ve been on committees, you’ve been accepted to competitive programs, you’re on a sports team, you’ve co-chaired stuff, great… But what have you DONE? The admissions team is going to look at your application for a split-second and say, this is Sub, a qualified student like 80 other kids. INSTEAD, you want them to say, this is Sub, “the world-class __________.” Find that blank, and you’ll be golden. Be exceptional at one thing, or extraordinary at a few things. Right now, you’re great at a bunch of things, but what is that one thing you can really hone in on? What sticks out at ME personally is your aerospace type stuff. What can you do in the next year so that they say, “this is Sub, she is world-class at Aerospace.” You can extend this line of reasoning to anything. Hope that helps. And, good luck!
