Sorry, my last post left off Tier 2 and Tier 3 schools.

University of Mississippi
Mississippi State University
Louisiana State University - Baton Rouge
University of South Florida
West Virginia University
University of Cincinnati
University of Louisville
Oklahoma State University
Texas Tech University
Oregon State University

I don’t think he’d get into Penn State University Park, or Miami U of Ohio, and Pitt would be a reach school - but you never know, especially if his parents are willing to pay OSS rates…

I highly doubt he would get into Penn State University Park, Pitt, or University of Washington with his stats. At least for Penn State University Park, his SAT scores are right at or below the 25th percentile and his gpa is below the 25th percentile. I think WVU might be a good fit.

His stats are too low for either Miami (Ohio) or Ohio State, though I think with his requirements (big, sports) he’d like OSU. What state is he in? If he’s in Ohio he could go to a regional OSU campus and then transfer in without too much trouble.

Colorado may be a reach for him… Boulder’s been criticized heavily for favoring out-of-state students with average grades over better-qualified in-state kids. So they’ve been upping the ante academically – unless he can get in with sports as a hook, Colorado may be borderline.

That said, Colorado State is big, with a big sports program, and some outstanding programs. Fort Collins is a nice college town and yes, he could still ski.

If he is top-tier in track, but only if - Unversity of Arkansas, the most winning track program in NCAA history. Tennese is also at the top in track.

Another possibility would be Oregon State.
