evelynne, well best of luck with those apps, it sounds like those schools would be better matches for you so i hope you get accepted to at least one of those schools and that it is affordable. Bryn Mawr, as i’m sure you know, is in a Philly suburb so you still have access to Philadelphia from there. im not real up on public transportation in that area but if there is a regional rail station near by, you can access most parts of Philadelphia through regional rail. Temple will be a good back up if needed.
and James, i have forgotten to congratulate for you being in the hunt for Penn. not everyone has the option to have a shot at Penn so kudos to you for having the stats to have a chance(and the hard work you did to have such stats) and the drive and determination to go after your dreams.
yes, but some are in the “say what…?” category and i suspect you are in at least teh hmmm category. like i joked about my kid, no one was going to toss his app in the recycle bin at first glance. Second glance, maybe! but not first,
i believe some international students have gotten presidential scholarships. im not sure if it is automatic for international students but the little data i have seen, their scholarships are lining up with what would be expected given GPA’s and test scores. questions are not stupid. we’re figuring it out ourselves too!
@FlaviusMaximus Yes, international students got scholarships like the Presidential/Provost/etc. too. From what I know, it’s not automatic for international students though. For example, my friend from Vietnam has his stats high enough to get a Presidential, but he ended up getting only the Provost one. It really depends on the selectivity of the international applicants pool.
Well thank you @evelynne1996 and @ctl987 another thing do I need to submit something like the International Financial Aid For and the Certificate of Finances, other colleges sent me an email or wrote n their portal that I gotta do it, but Temple assumes that I know and do a whole lot of stuff on my own accord so please clarify this out too
P.S. - Do international students also get an acceptance va snail mail or thats just something for the Americans
i would contact the financial aid office via email and ask what you need to do for financial aid. evelynne may be able to help with this too as she knows more than me on these issues. what country are you from? i don;t know on acceptance letter question. i have seen a number of international students at Temple btw!
Basically Temple would do everything for you, so no need to submit COF/ISFAA (by the way, international students are not eligible for financial aid).
You would receive a notification in your TUportal when you’re accepted, and get your acceptance package shortly after that (3 days-1 week). The package would be mailed by UPS.
Are your sure @evelynne1996 that intl students are not eligible for aid. One of the primary reasons I applied to temple was that it was affordable and I had checked on college boards big future website it said intl students eligible for need based aid. Can anyone please confirm this
@FlaviusMaximus Temple doesn’t give financial aid to international students. I asked the international admission committee about this once. International students only get merit scholarships.
and please don’t trust any except the school’s official website. I’ve seen many cases in which CB’s data regarding international admission statistics turns out to be incorrect/misleading.
Thanks @evelynne1996 I did check on the official website and it says they don’t, I already paid so all I gotta do is wait and see if I can get enough Merit School to join
I applied on December 2nd, my application was processed on December 6th, and I was accepted in 2 weeks. I received the Presidential Scholarship and acceptance into the Temple Honors program. My letter came in the mail about 6 weeks later (part of the delay was probably because of the holidays and because I am on the other side of the country, because I know some people received their letters in 2-4 weeks after their acceptances). A week after that I received a letter about my acceptance into the Fox Business Honors program.
