is it better to have a B in a super hard class.. or an A in a super easy class ? they are the same subjects

Something tells me admission officers have higher IQ then monkey. They won’t see As alone.

What are the classes? Will colleges be able to determine their relative difficulty based on the name alone?

@halcyonheater well i got an A in honors physics but because of a misprint in the school curriculum i ended up taking that classes a full year early… will the dean be like “ok…” or “cool”

Would you be willing to trade usernames with me?

An A in a really hard class. It sucks, but that’s what the Ivys and Co. say. Remember that there are kids who are able to do just that. Nonetheless, they’d really rather have the B. The B gets averaged out over the GPA, and as long as it is 3.8+, you’ll not be penalized for it. However, with a high AP score, colleges might be more forgiving of the B and you’d still be able to save thousands on college while prepping for the ever important SAT IIs. However, with a super easy class, colleges will tend to look at your overall application with more scrutiny/cynicism, as they’ll view you as skirting around challenges to present a sham to colleges, meaning that your actual examples of hard-work will be mitigated in perceived magnitude
