Is the B.S. in Information Science and Technology (ISTBS) a good program in Penn State? Does Penn State have good connections in the IT industry (IBM, Microsft, etc) and also should I prefer a degree in IT or in Computer Science?

Bump i would like to know too…

Well, I graduated with a degree in MIS (management information systems) which is basically the business school’s version of each of those. However, if you as someone with either of those major’s, they will probably tell you otherwise.

My understanding of this, having known some professionals with each of those degrees, who do the same thing, is that Comp. Sci is more on the coding end of things, and IST is more visual.

This is very basic, but it depends on what you really want to get into.

I can say for sure that Penn State has some serious connections with IBM and many other software companies, including MiniTab, which is actually based in State College.
