B.S. vs. B.A. in college

Does that matter? I'm thinking if I should go for a B.A. in Chemistry or an ACS Certified B.S. in Chemistry with specialization in Biochemistry? I'm currently declared for the latter but I'm not sure if either will help as far as med admissions go or what... and what exactly is the difference between a B.S. degree and a B.A. degree? I just know that at my school at least the B.S. degree requires many more credit hours...

see any number of posts about how yourmajor doesn't really matter; this argument can be expanded to a B.A. vs B.S. question, especially at some schools where certain majors are inherently B.S. and others are B.A.
