B.Sc at MHC????

Ok.. I've only just noticed on their website, but it seems that MHC does give a B.Sc?!! Is this correct? they only do B.A's right? How does this affect getting into grad school? Esp for medicine/ health sciences??? Thanks!!!!

Mount Holyoke does not give B.Sc, only B.A. I can’t speak from the med school perspective, but when I applied to grad school they wanted to see RESEARCH RESEARCH RESEARCH, and that was what I had. Keep in mind you can always look up what other schools require for a B.Sc and then just take those classes in addition.

PS: I think there is a program where you can get an engineering degree, but you have to spend your junior year at Dartmouth. I don’t really know about it though.

Hi, can you tell me more about sciences at MHC? Maybe Pre-med?

stinkyrat – MHC doesn’t have a “pre-med” major. A lot of pre-med students major in related fields like Bio or Chem, but there are also others who major in other fields such as CompSci or Philosophy.

mvogel, a huge number of colleges and universities, especially the really old ones (like MHC), give only the A.B. (We don’t say B.A. here; another old tradition.) Some other colleges that offer the Bachelor of Arts only include Princeton (except for engineering), Amherst, Wesleyan (I believe), Middlebury, Bowdoin, and so forth. It has nothing to do with your curriculum, so don’t worry about it. :)
