I'm torn. I applied as a business major in the CBA and got into the honors program. Now, I'm having second thoughts. I really love math and was thinking about just majoring in that and minoring in business. I love the actuary track in the math program because I might want to become an actuary. But I know business at northeastern is very good and students get good co-ops and the programs ranked highly. How is the math department though? Any suggestions? Thanks..

They have a good math program. Nearly everyone in their department got their PHD at a prestigious institute and the capstone project looked amazing.

You can also attend math colloquium conferences between Harvard, MIT, Brandeis, and NEU.

also, I want to confirm, I am unable to double or dual major in business and mathematics?

another question, does anybody know about the class visit program. i saw it on their website where you can go to a class with a current student. it said they will notify accepted students with dates in which you can do this. do you know when and how i will know?

any help??

The double major isn’t one that’s already set up, so you’d be creating it on your own. My guess is it’s possible but you’d have to talk to an advisor.

you think I can do it in eight semesters? would i have to pay extra?
