Bad Decision? (Dropping a class and losing credit)

I haven’t any hindsight as I go into my junior year and hope that maybe there are people who can help me with this situation. I have always wanted to be a sports manager, unfortunately the process has often been riddled with booster members kids so that those of us without an upper hand couldn’t get in. That was, until this year. One of the junior wrestling managers moved schools and left a spot open. I had formed a pretty good relationship with the head coach when I had him in class last year and he approached me about being a manager for him. The thing is, he’d really like me in there ASAP. Our school doesn’t like to, but they will let you drop a class during the semester you just don’t get credit for it. I would be dropping psychology (an elective) to pick up wrestling seeing as they’re on the same hour. Do you think it would hurt my application or my chances of being admitted if I didn’t obtain the 1/2 credit for this semester?

Random information that I don’t know if it effects the answer or not- I plan on becoming a Nurse Practitioner. I want to attend a state school (OU) I have a 4.0 and grades have never been a problem. My activities are heavily leaned towards academics and service so I really feel like this may flesh me out into an athletics direction just a tiny bit making me a bit more well rounded. This is something I would do from now till I graduated.
Thanks for the advice!!

I think you should go for it. Not because of any potential boost to your future application, but because it’s something you’ve always wanted to do. It doesn’t sound like it will hinder your graduation or GPA.

I would go for it. I don’t think Psychology vs Wrestling Manager would make much of a difference.
