Bad GPA + Good SAT + Good AP = What?

Whoa. You smart lazy bum. I know ,, I know, it's a juxtaposition. (or contradiction.) Hey, maybe we can share minds, my grades are bad but I get the highest tests in class. Great minds think alike.! But my situation is different. I used to work hard but like 95% of my school is Hispanic, needless to say I made friends (i'm asian) with alot of them and my grades went down. Stereotyping? I think not!

This is kinda off topic but I felt I should respond to it b/c no one else has

That means f**ing fgot suck my d*k. None of which is a word you should speak in front of any hispanics.

Thanks for the replies Star*, john6391, JexteLox, A1389, angelican0t

A1389, it's not that I didn't do anything all year and then crammed at the end. I just kinda worked at my own pace, if a teacher gave an assignment like "write out and define every single term here, then give examples that apply to the course subject" I wouldn't do it because I would feel it was unnecessary. I did however read the textbook in order to get the information I needed.

Star*, I agree with your point of view. Colleges would like to see someone that is not only intelligent but has a good work ethic. However I don't think my work ethic is too great at the moment which is why I plan to get straight A's and change my ways for at least first semester of senior year. Hopefully if they see that I got straight A's in 6 AP's they'll rethink their previous conclusion.

angelican0t, Unfortunately my counselor retired this year so the only person that understood me and knew why I received such low grades is gone =[ I will try to get in contact with her though, and if not I can simply have a teacher try and explain it.

JexteLox, it's definitely not stereotyping. Who your friends are can determine a lot about yourself. They can be bad influence or good influence. But in the end it's all about choices you make, friends only make thing easier or harder, never impossible.

I think it's a really good idea to try to get in touch with your old guidance counselor, hopefully she can write a good letter explaining the grades. GPA isn't everything, althought it will raise some questions. Make sure all your AP test grades get sent. Good luck!
