Bad Highschool GPA, Great College GPA

I think that it seems unlikely that an adcom would remember an applicant from year to year unless they were especially notable.

Well… I’d often have a copy of the previous application, with relevant notes appended to it, but never anything closely resembling a reason for accepting, rejecting, or waitlisting an applicant.

Clairea, some of those schools you applied to are definitely between HYP and ND in selectivity. Which admitted you?

I was accepted by Hamilton and waitlisted at ND and BC.

I know that probably means I don’t have good chances at transferring, but I feel so bored. I can study for a test for 15 minutes and ace it. It feels great to get good grades, but I really miss being challenged and having to work. This just feels like such a waste of time. I’m not getting anything out of it.

Clairea, I promise that it will get harder at ND. I am not saying you should not want to transfer, but you should realize that the hardest part of the freshmen year of college is the transition, and learning time management. Coming from a boarding school you were a step ahead of everyone else.

I still think that you are good candidate to transfer to a higher level school  just keep the above in mind.

hmom I highly doubt for one second that you were an adcom at an ivy, seriously I can tell that when someone has to throw their merit around then chances are that they are not what they say they are

Chances of someone working for Harvard actually spending time on a message board are unlikely, highly unlikely.

I doubt Flowerhead herself worked as an admissions officer but the thing is, her advice seems on point and pretty much accurate. Hmom on the other hand seems to be posting for the sake of winning compliments:

“look at me guys, I worked as a Harvard adcom, worship me”
