Your stats look great, especially SAT scores and all your volunteer work. I'd say you're likely to get into most of the schools on your list. Obviously Harvard and Princeton are going to difficult to get into no matter who you are, but you have a good shot.

By the way, us NY public school students rock--who doesn't love Regents? And what happened with the 68? You might want to retake, it's so at odds with all your other great stuff :)

Very nicely said,
All low reaches, or matches, only because it can be arbitrary. I think that the stem cell research, the leadership and your excellent scores will get you in.

chance me?

i'd chance you, let me find your thread. thank you by the way, about retaking the regents i thought they don't let you unless you fail..it was earth science betweeni took it in the 8th grade the highest score in my school was an 85 due to the school changing our teacher literally 4 times but yea thanks

If your able to explain your score, and since you took it in eigth grade...it will be negligible. Don't worry about it.

i think you meant 220 on your psat.
you've got some interesting EC's and good test scores. if you can show them that you're really interested in those and just don't do them to look good, i'd say you have a good shot at all of them. penn's early decision% is pretty high so u have a good shot there if you show some interest in them. good luck.

You'll most likely get into Penn ED.
However, after that, Cornell and BU are probably the only "likely" schools.

i'm not sure if that's your real list but if it is i suggest putting atleast one safety school on there. i'm sure u'll get into atleast one of those places but it's possible that you don't and you wanna have something to fall back on. maybe a good state school that'll give you a lot of money.

Hey, I took Earth Sci in 8th grade too! Weird. The teacher thing can definitely kill your grade. It actually happened this year at my school, one of our chem teachers left like a month before the Regents and some other teacher was saying that all the kids in her classes could definitely appeal their scores or something like that. However, I don't know how that would work and it might be a little late. It also might not be worth the time and effort to learn all that stuff again since you took it a while ago.

As for retaking, I thought this was throughout NYS, but at least at my school you can take any Regents as many times as you want and only the highest score counts. Maybe it doesn't work that way at your school, I don't know.

good chances at all schools, may i ask which essay contest you won 10,000$ from?

elder and leemaur i dont think my eesay in on their site since i won 1 1/2 yr ago , so u guys dont think my 35/800 rank or 95 average will be a risk?

what if i apply harvard early? and penn regular?

As far as I know, Harvard got rid of early decision/action from this year on. Correct me if I'm wrong, anyone.

O_O that sucks oh well then penn for me

anymore takess?

you look great. just write a good essay and you will have a chance. i say penn is a near definite ED with a good essay and recs.

chance me on july 8th once i get my IB scores lol

lol thankyou i will

What state are you from?

And yeah, I could see you getting into Penn ED (CAS or Wharton?)
