I’m a money nerd and love finding another way to play with it. Zelle works great and is nearly instant. I use it several times a month with the kiddos. I got them free Chase college accounts since I want them to already have accounts nationally - never know where they will start their careers. I had them waive the overdraft provision. I told the kiddos that the bank will decline the transaction and they will be embarrassed so they know to keep up with the balance.
They don’t go to the bank. There are no branches where DS is and he mostly uses Venmo and orders online. Heavy debit card uses so very little need for cash. DD#1 will have a branch nearby but her P/T gig pays instantly by direct deposit. We will have to see if she will be able to do that with her on campus job. I’m going to teach her how to do mobile deposit on her account.
