Hi! so, I’m a high school jr. with a good SAT score, but not such a stellar GPA. I am very interested and film and am working on compiling a portfolio. Does bard take portfolios into consideration in admissions at all? I am especially interested in their film and video program, so I think my video skills are relevant, but then again Bard is a liberal art college where one does not begin by declaring a major. Either way, I’m planning on taking the new alternative admissions test. Any input on Bard admission’s weight on supplemental material, or on the admissions exam wold be great! I’m just so excited about it!:D

Yes they do! My GPA wasn’t the best, nor was my essay, but the admissions department loved my fiction writing and I’m pretty sure that’s how I got accepted. Bard looks at the full applicant, and their grades are not always reflective of their work ethic – if you do what you love and do it well, they will take notice. Best of luck!

Thanks so much for the reply! much appreciated @jeffd543
