I’m in love with Barnard but am unsure if my family can afford it. My parent’s income is around 100k for a 6 person family with two of my siblings going to private schools that my parents have to pay for. How much can I expect generally from Barnard for financial aid? I was told that the best case scenario would be a full ride and the worst would be around 30,000, but I just want to hear from someone who’s either applied or went to Barnard. I have a 32 Act (11 essay), 4.37 GPA, 2% class rank, and incredible extracurriculars. If anyone has any information they would like to share with me, it would be greatly appreciated.
Have you done the Barnard Net Price Calculator?

Are these K-12 schools or colleges?
Have you asked your parent how much they will pay each year? If not, do so.
Have them run the NPC on the Barnard website
Your stats have nothing to do with financial aid at Barnard – Barnard gives need-based aid only, and they use the same standards for calculating need for all students. So no “full ride” in the picture – they are going to use the CSS Profile to calculate what they think your family can pay, and that includes looking at assets like home equity.
Apply RD because you need to compare aid packages, and use the NPC to get a rough estimate - but keep in mind that the actual award can end up being very different than the NPC value. So don’t bank on the number you are given, but don’t let it deter you from applying either – sometimes people get better offers than what the NPC would indicate.
Given your high stats, you should also apply to colleges that are likely to offer significant merit aid.
What schools would you recommend that offer more significant merit aid?
