Barnard v. Northwestern

...yeah, it's no surprise what this thread's about.

I know they're very, very different schools. I'm visiting both of them within the next month, so I'll get a better sense of them then. (I'm in WCAS at Northwestern.) Any general thoughts?

two completely different environments...it would be hard to compare these 2 places

i say northwestern.

I would pick Barnard. But, are there any reasons to prefer one to the other for financial or geographical reasons? Northwestern is more the typical college experience.

i also say northwestern.

I can't really pick which school I think you should pick unless you give a little bit more information about yourself and what you're looking for in a college experience.

List your major, your desired student body size, location (how important an urban environment is to you), etc.

after i was deferred ed from barnard, i was pretty angry at myself for not applying to northwestern at all. i think a lot of students are attracted to both schools. but i feel that barnard women are more individuals than northwestern students are, and also, nothing beats nyc.
