There's a chapter (15) in Barron's chemistry called "Some Representative Groups and Families", do we really need to know like any of it? I mean it seems rather eeriely placed in the book and seems to contain blatantly random information eg. different the sulphur and nitrogen compunds and specific information about them individually like their colours....like I dont have enough information to swat already -_-
Thoughts from people with the book? I know Barron's is a bit overkill but when I opened the chapter I just skipped it immediately lol

Adding on his/her question, do we need to memorize the lab production techniques of Ammonia, Hydrogen, CO2, etc?

i used cliffs, but i found a lot of the information in that one to be irrelevant too. the colors are important. you should know colors of compounds. there are a few questions about that specifically on the test. also, the lab production question, you’ll need to know the basics for CO2, water, and the more simple compounds but thats it. anything else lab-related will be things you’ll ust know from doing labs in your class.
