I heard that bates usually releases ed2 decisions the Saturday before 15th. Any chance they’ll be releasing it next Saturday? and if not, has anyone got any clue when will they release it?
Hoping that it’s this Saturday the 8th because it’s a the Saturday before the 15th.

Got in!!!
OMG! Congratulations!!! Hope you enjoy your next 4yrs I got rejected tho, but I was asking for tons of financial aid so no complaints. What was your stats ?
I got deferred. Any advice ?
@Ashley01 if you have any updates in terms of achievements, awards, etc…, you can email your regional rep in the admissions office to let them know. For example, maybe you were offered some interesting summer position that’s relevant to your possible major or interests, or maybe you’ve just placed in a science competition. You can also also ask your guidance counselor to send your most recent grades if they are good. You can also let them know they are your top choice. Bates likes demonstrated interest. Keep any communication short and to the point. Good luck.
@NoobMaster My daughter was waitlisted at Wesleyan in the ED round and we were also asking for a lot of financial aid. I have heard that Bates and Wesleyan are looking for students who can pay full fare. "Today, more and more college admission officers want – and need – to know whether the kid can pay full-freight. And if there is a choice between two virtually-identical applicants – one who needs financial
aid and one who doesn’t – the fat envelope is going to go to the kid
who can pay full tuition. Some very good schools – such as Wesleyan – are coming forward and admitting that they can’t afford to be 100% need-blind. “More
than a handful of schools are not being honest however,” states Muska. “So kudos to them. Families need this transparency from colleges.”How many other schools did you apply to?
I am an international student so almost all of the US schools are need aware in my case. However, I believe that money plays a huge factor for both international and domestic students even if some schools claim otherwise. I mean come on, it’s probably the first thing displayed on every applicant’s common app while being reviewed is whether he’s pursuing aid or not. never believed in need-blind admission, never will, unless the school has some kind of off-charts endowment or smth. Colleges definitely need to be more transparent about the process as a whole, but you know at the end of the day it’s BUSINESS and they will not risk losing it for transparency. btw I applied to 20 schools and I didn’t intend to shotgun or anything but it’s really risky in my case. I also had enough time to craft each application, so why not? Hope that helps.
