Baylor class of 2022 acceptance

@shelbyp112233, could you possibly share with us what your email said, exactly?

Yes please @shelbyp112233

I said: “I hate to bother you again but I was just wondering if you happened to find out a time frame for when I should receive a decision! If not it’s fine! I just wanted to follow up since the end of this semester is approaching rapidly!”

And the response was: “ Looks like it will be sometime after the Thanksgiving Holidays, towards 1st week in Dec.”

I’m a transfer student hoping to attend in January so it might be different for me though

Thank you, @shelbyp112233. I think your email was polite and appropriate. And I’m glad your counselor gave you a clearer idea of the timeline. I am very surprised they are taking so long to decide a transfer application. I know you must be very anxious to know–and for good reason! Hang in there.

it seems like everyone’s counselor caters to their applicant needs, but mine. Seems like she reads straight out of the book of “what to reply when a applicant ask this”. I emailed her a question about the Baylor ID bar going missing and she sent back nothing about it, only “Your application is complete but no decision has been made yet”. She didn’t answer my question about the Baylor ID bar but gave me some miscellaneous information. She then went on to state some information on how I can enhance my application. I’m not mad at it, but I wish she can act like she cares about every applicant she’s assigned to, but that’s only my opinion.

Mine was exactly like that too. I think they have some default responses. The lady I contacted is not my counselor I think she’s an assistant or something

@seni0r2018 and @shelbyp112233, FWIW, my counselor has literally NEVER EVEN RESPONDED to several emails I sent (asking relatively simple questions). I thought this person may have quit but he/she has not. He/she is simply ignoring me, and I suspect many others. It is truly bizarre. I am trying not to judge Baylor adversely because of this (I doubt they realize her behavior). But it is hard.

So at least you re getting a response! I’m jealous! :))

Just got an email stating that honors college applications are now being read! Decisions should start coming out in Dec/Jan

Isn’t it hard to get good grades in honors college? My SS might get NMF scholarship which is needed to keep 3.5. Not sure how hard it is. He’s premed and undecided major for now. He’s thinking honors college plus pre med. How competitive is this?

@3lovingmom - The honors college curriculum is challenging…they great texts courses are demanding and far from an easy A, but I wouldn’t let the 3.5 requirement scare you off. The Honors college experience is great for pre-med majors who want the enrichment of a liberal arts college education and enjoy using both sides of their minds. A lot of premed majors do love being in the pre-health LLC, though. If your son can attend the I2E weekend in January, he can visit both colleges and (more importantly) talk to existing students and figure out what works for him. For my DD, likely also pre-med, the honors college has been a great choice.

how do you know when they are reviewing your application? Mine just says “We look forward to reviewing your application file. Wondering what to do while you wait for your decision? If you have not already submitted your recommended items - resume, letters of recommendation and short answer response - please do! These items can help make your application shine.”

So I have no idea if they have not even reviewed it yet, or if it is in the process, can anyone tell me what it says under the big green APPLICATION COMPLETE? thanks

@punahou2018 that’s what my Admissions portal says. It says “Application Complete” and then I have that statement like you said that says we look forward to reviewing your application and to add recommendation and all of I have not already. I already submitted all my required and optional items. My counselor told me they were pulling applications randomly to review. Waiting is so hard.

it is hard haha, I applied August 5th and had everything submitted by the beginning of October, I did all the extras and had an interview. ugh

The Baylor ID field is showing up again on the portal with an ID number…hoping that is good news!!!

I didn’t get that back… hoping that’s not bad news

I received an email from Baylor saying “We have a special message for you in goBAYLOR!” as its subject. I logged on, and I have a Baylor ID now and a new section to make a $500 deposit. The beginning image also says “Come to Baylor!” though I don’t know what it was before I received the email.

It still says “APPLICATION COMPLETE. We look forward to reviewing your application file. Wondering what to do while you wait for your decision? If you have not already submitted your recommended items - resume, letters of recommendation and short answer response - please do! These items can help make your application shine” though, so I’m not sure what this all means…

Is it safe to say that I’ve been accepted? Or?

@dangkat5 I got that email after I was accepted, and if the deposit section is there then you’re probably in. Maybe email your admissions counselor just to clarify? It’s probably a tech issue

My son got the same thing this morning but now the $500 deposit is missing from the web page.

We got the same message from Baylor this morning. daughter’s portal looks the same except she now has a Baylor ID.

I would say so… that’s weird though, email your counselor to make sure. When I was accepted, it asked me to pay the $500 deposit so. @dangkat5
