@Classof20212025 May I ask how you sent your AP scores to Baylor? We used the commonapp, but couldn’t figure out how to report AP test scores there. Did you email them the scores afterwards?
@2021senior Hi, which part of Kansas are you form if you don’t mind me asking?
Do I need to be enrolled or planning to enroll to join the fb group chat?
My daughter applied 10/15 and hasn’t heard yet. She has excellent stats (780 math, 710 verbal), ranked 3rd in her class, 4.0 uw, 4.54 weighted gpa. lots of Ap classes (I think 8). She hasn’t heard yet. Should I be concerned? I didn’t file FAFSA or CSS as we won’t qualify for anything. Should I file anyway? She would love to go to Baylor and is waiting anxiously to hear…
@iluvnaples We didnt file FAFSA or CSS either to any of the colleges. I doubt that is the reason for the delay. Did you / your daughter check all your spam folders just to make sure you didnt miss the email? A lot of these college emails are getting foldered under spam now a days.
@norcalfre thanks for the info. I had her check her spam/ junk folder but nothing is there. The waiting is hard…
How long is the Zoom tour? Is it under an hour?
thanks
@DNapier you should always send them through collegeboard. Login to your MY AP account and send them directly. That is the only “official way” the colleges can verify the scores. I did not yet send mine with my app. I plan on doing it later. You dont have to submit with your app . You can not report through common app.
@ajwetzel No. You just need to request to join. I is for people to learn more about it and meet people. I am not commited to Baylor and I am a part of the group
@iluvnaples You have no need to worry. If those are the stats she is basically guaranteed acceptance unless she blew the essays.
I just got accepted! I had a 4.07 GPA with a 1310 SAT. I also received an $80,000 scholarship ($20,000 a year). Does anyone know if that is Presidents Scholarship or Provosts?
Can anyone maybe speak on what the honors college is like? I may apply but at the same time I feel like it would be veryyy difficult (if I were to be admitted, which with my 1310 SAT, probably wouldn’t happen). Are there significant benefits of being in one of the sections of the honors college?
@ncelotto Its the Provost. I got the same one. Letter with more info should be available as an email in about a week, then on your GoBaylor account. Presidents was 90,000 i believe
In the previous years posts, i saw some folks saying they saw an increased scholarship amount in their goBaylor account (around March).
If anyone knows more about this, please share.
@norcalfre @Classof20212025 maybe its the additional Scholarship Program money? I applied for the one that’s $3,000 a year and I was told that that was additional to the one stated on your application. So maybe it is that?
@norcalfre @ncelotto What happens is by March, they review FASFA and determine if you get more. Thats when they have a financial aid letter that lsit merit and additional aid. By March, most top students have either accepted or declined. When people decline more scholarship money is made availible so one could be upgraded from provost to presidentialu
@ncelotto @Classof20212025 Yes, its possibly the additional scholarship program. These additional scholarships greatly help families that might not qualify for ‘financial aid’ but still can’t afford the hefty price tag of private college education (after the merit scholarships).
What is the name of this $3k scholarship and how did you apply for it? Is it the ‘Distinguished Scholars’ scholarship?
@norcalfre yes, its the Distinguished Scholars scholarship. I went to the scholarship program page and it was super simple to apply for it. I’m not sure when we find out about it but I hope I get it! An extra $3,000 a year certainly wouldnt hurt
I applied to Baylor end of October, and on Nov 2 my goBaylor portal said application complete. However, on Nov 3, I got an email from my admissions counselor saying that they needed something else and my goBaylor portal changed to application incomplete. I submitted it the next day but my goBaylor portal is yet to change. Will I still be considered EA if, on the EA deadline, my goBaylor portal said my application was complete?
@CollegeBoundBrit on your goBaylor portal, it should indicate the admission plan you did. If it still says Early Action, then you should be fine
