Baylor or TCU

I’m really stuck between picking TCU or Baylor. I have visited both schools, and both are great, but Baylor campus is on another whole level lmao. TCU has accepted more transfer credits than Baylor; TCU 59cr > Baylor 43cr. Also, TCU has the program that I wanted to major in: Criminal Justice. Now, Baylor doesn’t have Criminal Justice as a major but they do have it has a minor, so the closest thing I can come to studying Criminal Justice will be receiving a minor in CJ with a major in Sociology. I know both schools are great! But everyone I speak too tells me getting a degree form Baylor will be better in the long run. I also want to say that they both are offering the same thing; paying for tuition, but I feel Baylor has a better transfer student program than TCU’s. You know that I like proving people wrong and challenging myself. At the end of the day I want to look back at my life and say that I gave it my all and can inspire others that anything is possible. I want to becoming a police officer one day… so is getting a Sociology degree way better than receiving a Criminal Justice degree?

Baylor network seems to be stronger and more diverse than TCU which will serve you well in the long run.

Regarding the acceptance of transfer credits, we found the same thing with AP credits. At first it was a bummer, then you have to question the school that will take any credits on the table and I like that Baylor holds to a higher standard.

Tough call. I’d say Baylor, but TCU offers your major and is accepting more transfers.

In my opinion TCU network is stronger in DFW, but Baylor is more diverse in that you’ll find more of them spread out around other cities like Houston, etc. I don’t understand why anyone would want to live in Waco though. To me, living in DFW over Waco seems like a no brainer.

Regarding aspirations to be a police officer, a college degree isn’t a requirement to be a police officer, but you do get paid a few extra grand if you have a degree. Your major won’t matter though for the police force–they won’t look at you any differently if you want to TCU vs Baylor, or studied Soci vs Cr Justice. I’d say criminal justice sounds way more relevant but overall just do what you enjoy most.

TCU is a much smaller campus. That really is a big deal as a four year student, but as a two year, not as much.

You seem to prefer the Baylor campus, yet TCU has your major and will allow you to graduate sooner b/c they accept more transfer credits. If graduating sooner is desirable for you (finances or getting on with your life), then TCU is a good choice.

Are you a big football fan? TCU absolutely rocks in that regard now that RGIII is gone… and I’m pretty sure he ain’t comin back.

Because of the recognition from the football program, I think TCU is just as recognizable as Baylor is. This didn’t used to be the case. As far as reputation? Six of one and half dozen of the other. Remember though that Baylor is really, super strict about not drinking on campus, if that matters to you.

TCU is a little more preppy than Baylor (but neither is even close to SMU in that dept.)… does that matter to you?

If a Christian campus and experience is more important than go with Baylor
