Hi, everyone. I’m a high school senior awaiting admission application results at Baylor. Admittedly, I have not done nearly enough research into the school and only just now thought to look at their standardized test requirements. (I was kind of messing around when I applied. I can’t afford this school.) I was kind of confused by their testing requirements. They stated very clearly that they do superscore and that if you take the ACT, you are required to take the writing portion. However, when I read further, it seemed to imply that they only care about the Math and Critical Reading sections of the SAT. This seemed odd, considering their writing requirement for the ACT. Can someone clear this up for me? I submitted the SAT, and, with Writing my highest score, would benefit from it’s inclusion in scholarship consideration. My M/CR score is 1290, probably around the middle of their applicant pool, but my overall score out of 2400 is 2010, which I feel is slightly more competitive.

The writing section is fairly new to the SAT and colleges seem to be mistrustful of it. That said, Baylor won’t reject you just because of your SAT if the rest of your application is stellar. But if you can’t attend, I wouldn’t worry too much.
