Baylor University Early Decision for Fall 2022 Admission

Congratulations! That’s awesome! Did he get an email or found it in his portal only?

@Mom22kd it was on the portal - no email yet

She was not offered an invitation to advance, congratulations to those who were!

Did she check under ‘connect and visit’? That’s where it shows up.

Yes, she received a message saying she was t selected for B2B or Getterman
With her stats and tons of student leadership, volunteer, state gymnastics medal, theater…etc. Cannot predict college admissions!

“Was not”

College admission process is so unpredictable! They probably think Baylor is just a safety for her and that she would likely attend another school. @Mom22kd

I’m sure there were a ton of great applicants. Good luck to your son!

@Mom22kd sorry to hear that. I’m sure there are tons of others wanting her to get into their BS/MD programs - this feels like a gambling game and we truly don’t know what they’re looking for. It’s emotionally draining for kids and parents - best wishes to her on all the other apps!

Thank you! I’m sure your daughter will be offered great opportunities at other schools! Good luck to her!

Hi there! Just found this thread yesterday. My son just checked and didn’t get offered to the next round unfortunately. The letter said many more applicants this year. My question is does this mean his chance of getting accepted is not good?

My son just got I2E invite! So exited for him.

My son got his I2E invite tonight. No admission yet. Baylor is his number one choice. Hoping to hear from them soon!

Curious for those with students with 35 ACT or 1500+ SAT. Are your kids looking at top schools such as Stanford, Duke, Northwestern and the Ivies? What draws them to Baylor over what most would consider top 10 universities?

Email came in at 7:06 pm. Checked the portal and she had moved on to round 2 of I2E, but not Distinguished Scholars (didn’t even notice that at first) - but since I2E is full tuition and DS is $3k, that may be why. So, is it wrong to think if you move on to round 2 in I2E that chances are pretty good that admission will be forthcoming?

We have not gotten admission decision either! Crazy!

Same case for my son in round 1 I2E, he got accepted later. So I would say that if you get invited to I2E, very good chance to be accepted for sure

Yes, my DD is applying to many schools, 8 are top 20. Baylor is the lowest ranked school that she applied to. We will get no financial aid at any schools and she is pre med so cost is a big consideration. Baylor has a good med school and ranks well all around so getting guaranteed admission to the med school and/or scholarships was appealing. Without that she will probably decide to go somewhere cheaper or more prestigious for undergrad and compete for a spot at an Ivy League med school.

Baylor is an excellent safety for kids targeting T-20 schools and a well-respected pre-med college - they’re known for their premed prep and rigor. BS/MD gets you into one of the best medical schools within Texas. It being an in-state option is also a bonus. Their scholarship is pretty attractive and the value for money is great with excellent private school education for not a super high sticker price.

DD has not been accepted yet, either. Did get a slot at I2E, but did not move on to next round of consideration for B2B.
