My son made a 36 composite on his ACT, was a National Merit Finalist and a valedictorian of a large school with a perfect GPA. Honors Scholarship application state that they are ALL merit based and we applied, but did not receive one. Can anyone let me know why? I have called numerous times and have left these questions as messages but no replies as of yet. I just do not see that many people scoring higher merit based and we really needed the scholarship. I was told that they may save more scholarship to students who have been there longer. I am just confused.
Sorry I realized after I posted it was under a different thread than Baylor university. Sorry for the confusion
I’m not a Baylor specialist but I have played around with their merit scholarship calculator because I have some friends whose kid are interested and they have come to me with college planning and scholarship questions.
It always looked like to me that if you were a NMF AND you had a confirming score of a perfect ACT then you qualified for the Regents Gold Scholarship which is about $41,000 per year. The scholarship deadline looks to be Feb 1.
The application was put in on time right?
Yes we received the Regents Gold Scholarship but were hoping for the additional Honors to help pay for room and board.
Sounds like you got an amazing deal then!! Sorry about not getting the Honors scholarships. They are kind of vague about stacking scholarships. One of those Honors scholarships looks to be need based, one looks like it has a preference for Classics majors and the other two look merit based only.
