I'm currently waitlisted at my 1st choice, so I've narrowed it down to Baylor and Marquette.
I'd be majoring in Neuroscience at Baylor, and Physiological Sciences at Marquette. I also plan on being in the Pre-med program at both.

Does anyone have any input?

I've heard Marquette isn't that good for science majors, unless you're going into engineering. The major also seems better suited for someone wanting to get into p.t. which isn't something I've really wanted to do.

Baylor seems like a great school to me, although I have heard a few negative comments. One thing I think I'm not going to enjoy, is being in Waco. [btw, I currently live in Milwaukee]

Well these are two very differently social/cultural environments. If you are from Milwaukee, you are likely more accustomed to a more liberal urban environment. Waco is NOT that. Baylor is also a christian university and Texas (outside of Austin) is what it is. Personally, I would opt for Marquette because it suits my tastes socially, but you have to ask yourself if you want to try something new/different or if you are good being home for another four years.

I think you should go to Baylor over Marquette because it is financially beneficial and who the heck wants to stay in Wisconsin their whole life! Haha, a change of scenery is good for you. But congratulations on your acceptances to those two colleges! Just a question, did you only apply to colleges that didn’t require an application fee? Because I know if you apply to Marquette and Baylor online it’s free.

I also got accepted to Baylor, and although I’m not going, I’ve visited. Have you gone, or have you not had the chance? If you haven’t, Baylor’s a very nice school, and I liked it a lot. The only bad thing is that, yes, Waco’s practically void of any sort of social life. However, Dallas isn’t that far away, and there’s PLENTY to do there.

waitlist chioce: tulane. [oh how i would love to go there.]

and, questions: i had decided i would go to baylor, but then after talking to a close friend, he told me he would rather go to marquette, because it seems like a better school, and is well-known around wisconsin. however, i disagreed, because i’ve heard its science dept is lacking. So that just made me question my original decision.

matt, thank you, for understanding i want to get out of wisconsin, hah. I love it and all, but c’mon.
and i’m not really sure, the application fee wasn’t really part of my decision on whether or not to apply. I know tulane also was free, I also applied and got into u of m twin cities but i’m not sure if that had a fee.

and no i have not visited yet, and i’ve heard that from friends that have went to go visit also, so i’m not that worried about not visiting before making my decision.
