BB writing queiston help

P 783, #23

Observation of diverse animal species A(show that) the B(most successful) in the struggle for survival are C(those which) are most D(adaptable to) changes in their world.

I think there are two possible errors here.

First one is A, which should've been "shows that"
and the second one is C, which should've been "those that"

I always thought that a comma is needed right after which, so I'm really confused.

please help

From what I’ve read, the SAT doesn’t care about the difference between that/which.

That’s what I was thinking. However, C is fine.

I believe it does, though, distinguish between “who” (used after people) and “which” (used after things).

so there’s really no difference between “which” and “that” when it refers to an object or a thing?

They don’t distinguish between them in the sense that they don’t expect you to use one with a comma and one without a comma, if that’s what you mean.

Hmm…So the answer is A then?

Yes, A it is.

I always thought that a comma is needed right after which, so I’m really confused.

Comma is not always needed after which.

It’s definitely A since it’s “observation” and not “observations”
