BC (arts and science honor program) vs JHU?

From what I gather, its a trade off between superior academics (Hopkins) or a good social life? Am I correct on this?

Thoughts?

You are basically correct–JHU is superior to BC academically in every discipline. Although the social life has improved significantly at Hopkins over the last decade, it is likely that BC still provides a better quality of life than JHU. But in terms of academic strength, prestige, and wow-factor, JHU wins–and JHU wins for most people as evidence by the following link:

Yes, because the non-existent undergraduate business program at JHU is so much better than CSOM.

JHU is overall the better and more prestigious academic school. Although what do you want to major in?

anyone that uses self-reported anecdotes as ‘evidence’ needs to revisit AP Stats.

I had to make a similar decision between Northwestern and BC honors, and I chose BC. Both degrees will get you places, so it all comes down to where you feel the most comfortable and the happiest, not the school that is the most prestigious. For me, that was BC.

It depends what you want to do…for pre-med, dental, definitely JHU. For business BC. for engineering I dont know much about, sorry. Overall JHU will provide a much more academically sound education and will offer great research and internships in everything bit buisness and possibly engineering (like I said dont know much about). JHU usually has a very cut throat environment which can be stressful. However, BC is a very preppy school so if you are not into the cliquish style then JHU will be better socially. Huffington post ranked BC as the #5 most preppy college in the country.
