BC or GW for IR?

My daughter plans to major in Int’l relations and is choosing between Boston College and George Washington. My impression is that BC is the stronger school overall, but GW has the Elliott School and location on its side.

For BC, I am a little concerned about the need to apply for the IR major at BC and the likelihood of being accepted into the program, and for GW I am concerned about the relative weakness of some of the other programs if she should decide to change majors.

If anyone has any advice, it would be greatly appreciated.

What makes you think GW is relatively weak in other fields compared to BC?? I think across the social sciences and humanities, GW is just as strong as BC.

Did she get into Elliott?
General education classes will be similar at GW and BC in terms of content and expectations.

GW has an excellent communications program, if she is interested in that
