BC Question for Languages and transfer question

Does anyone know if you can take just one semester of a language your freshmen year (specifically Italian). Because of financial reasons (I am paying for my own college), I will be attempting to transfer to ND (much, much better financial aid and way closer to home), and they require two math, two science, a history, a philosophy of some sort, and three extras like languages, religion, etc. Unfortunately, I will have to go outside of BC’s curriculum for the math, which leaves me in a predicament.
The classes that I want to take my first and second semesters are:
First semester: Calc 1, Gen Bio, Perspectives, English first year, and Psychology
Second Semester: Calc 2, Science class, Perspectives, Italian, History

Is this possible? I would absolutely love to start my language freshmen year, because I plan on studying abroad in Italy my entire junior year whether I stay at BC or go to ND; however, it looks like they don’t just let you take one semester of the intro languages; they require the whole year.

ND is EXTREMELY specific on the freshmen year courses, so if anyone has any insight into transferring, please let me know. I emailed this exact schedule to the admissions officer for my region at ND, and she said that this would be a good schedule, as long as I can get it, and that for perspectives, those credits might not transfer, but it still would be ok.

Sorry this is so long. Thanks for any advice/insights!

I am majoring in English and Italian, btw, if that is even possible. I only am able to skip out of the Literature Core.
