I was talking to a current plebe who graduated my HS the other night and he informed me that Beast for the Class of 2009 would be much harder than last year. He really didn't go into a great deal of detail, he just underscored this point several times. Anybody else hearing this?

Whether it is or not, you won't have any way to tell. Beast is conducted with the help of the second class, so I doubt a current year plebe would have much real info on what's coming other than the kind of info you just heard, rumour. In any case work on preparing yourself, as it will certainly be much harder than anything any of the entering plebes of the c/o 2009 did last year :)

Good Luck!!

Everyone I've spoken to always says that their Beast was harder than the preceding year's. My best guess is that this is little more than Old Corps egotism, but...

If you accept the theory that each year is harder than the preceding year, and you also accept the theory that this year will be no different from the others, then it follows that this year will be the hardest one yet.

Fortunately, I have a solution:

P-U-S-H-U-P-S

I think it'll be harder in some ways and easier in some ways. Read my post in "Women in Combat". The final ruck has been cut down to 12 miles, put the max amount of push-ups has been upped to 40 (from 20). Warrior Forge is no longer "Operation Carry-Heavy-Stuff", but it'll be a lot more realistic with NBC attacks, ambushes, and that kind of thing.

interesting
