Cadet Basic Training Company H

How'd you get that?! Did it say what Regiment?

Are you drilling your daughter yet?

"First Sergeant, new cadet ______ reports to the First Sergeant of Hotel Company, Cadet Basic Training, for the first time as ordered!"

I've tried saying it to my parents, but I can't do it without laughing yet. The idea of my mother or father being in the Army is just hilarious. They're accountants, and they can't keep a straight face, either.

Nothing in our mail today. No update on the CIS.

shogun, how did you receive the info?

Wouldn't you say Company Hotel? Or at least, so the New Cadets said on the internet videos I've seen. Hastellion, I'm calling you later this evening, I promise. You caught me right when I was getting up from a nap and getting ready to go to the club. :)

I found out my address, but not my company.

How did you get this info? Was it by mail, or did you call?

We were given her company by a coach there. Nothing in the mail yet. The coach also gave us her address for Beast.

Doh! You had me all excited... I was ready to find out what Company I'm going to be in!

I emailed USMA, and they told me.

What Company? Also, who did you email?

Is my understanding correct?

The Corps of Cadets is divided into 4 regiments with 2 battalions in each regiment. Each battalion has 4 companies ( A-D or E-H) giving a total of 32 cadet companies. With about 4000 cadets in the corps, each company has 125 cadets.

For example, Company H2 would be 2nd Regiment, 2nd Battalion, Company H. While Company D3 would be 3rd Regiment, 1st Battalion, Company D.

Any word on the "unique" characteristics of the individual regiments?

I recieved my address in the mail today.

Aspen
I think you have that correct but am not sure. I also think that new cadets are reassigned to a new company etc once the academic year starts. The current assignments are just for Beast. Perhaps someone who knows could clarify if I am mistaken.

I've talked to several Cadets about this. In the past few years, your Beast Company and platoon correlated with what Regiment and Company you were in. For example, if I was in Bravo-2, then during the Ac year, I'd be in 2nd Reg, Bravo Company. This is, of course, different with the athletes who get shot-gunned (spread out) among the regular companies during the Ac year.

From what I hear, I should hope not to be in 3rd Reg, better known as the 3rd Reich. Also, F-2 is one to look out for.

marines4me,

Why would 3rd Reg or F-2 be problems? What does it mean that either one may be "one to look out for"? I assume that the senior level cadets change from year to year.

Marines,
I used the "email your admissions team" button on our CIS. I dunno the company.

I went to a picnic with my West Point Parent's club just now, and the cadet from f2 and others said that F2 was hard on the plebes, and 3rd reg was hard too.

momoftwins--3rd Regiment and F-2 are supposed to be EXTREMELY strict all year long. For example, while most companies have completely stopped asking their Plebes for knowledge after Spring break (besides meal menus), 3rd Reg and F-2 continue to do so, and they continue to semi-haze. I know that what I've said is a blanket statement, but that's just what the cadets have told me.
