<p>Wherever Alicia Aemisegger is swimming at an important meet -- collegiate, national, international -- she knows her Princeton University teammates won't be far behind with their encouragement. </p>
<p>She just doesn't know what surprise to expect next.</p>
<p>There have been funny e-mails. Calls in which a phone is passed around between her friends. Snacks left in her room. Even a comical sign in which her face was superimposed over a muscular body. </p>
<p>Aemisegger is both appreciative and motivated that her Princeton teammates are behind her attempt to swim for the U.S. Olympic team this summer [ ]"They're all my best friends and they've supported me through this whole goal that I've had," said Aemisegger, a 20-year-old sophomore. [ ]</p>
<p>Aemisegger, part of the undefeated, No. 18-ranked Tigers squad (8-0) that today begins pursuit of its 18th Ivy League championship in the three-day event it hosts at DeNunzio Pool, hopes to represent the United States in the 400-meter individual medley. Another Princeton swimmer, junior Doug Lennox, already has qualified to swim at the Beijing Olympic Games in August, representing Puerto Rico. </p>
