I am pretty sure there are honors society in UA, but how do I apply for it? Is it competitive?

If you qualify, you’ll be inundated with opportunities to join honor societies. Generally once you have a GPA, if it’s good, they’ll find you.

All honor societies have a membership fee - some of them over $100. These are usually one time fees, but something you should think about as you have already expressed concern about finances. I would suggest you research any that invite you and be very selective about which if any you join in order to use your limited funds wisely.
