Below average GPA but good SAT?

I’m hoping to get into the University of Washington. I know my SAT is in line with their 70-75th percentile, but my GPA is more around the 40-50th if not lower. What do you think my chances are?

Thank you!

I think you’re fine. Actually your gpa isn’t that bad. I’d say you have a very good chance.

Your GPA may be fine, but if you can bring it up you can increase your chances.

@mntEden, the average GPA for the class entering UW Seattle in fall 2015 was 3.78/4.0, and the average SAT was 1855. http://opb.washington.edu/sites/default/files/opb/Data/2016_Fast_Facts.pdf

Could be a close call, and out of state is tougher, but I think your solid SAT and great ECs will carry the day for you.

Good luck!

Excuse if I’m misinterpreting this @UWfromCA, but the document you provided says the average GPA of the entering class is 3.69/3.78, correct?

Edit: never mind :expressionless:
