I have taken two subject tests so far. Math IIC-670 and US History 750

On Saturday I am taking Math IIC and Physics. I expect Math IIC to shoot up because I am doing heavy prep and I am relatively good at math...I got a 5 on Calc BC as a junior. Physics I am working hard and praying to get over 700.

Anyway I am thinking of taking Spanish w/listening since I am a native speaker and it seems pretty easy looking at the official CB test.

Is there any benefit to sending in 4 subject tests when a school only required 2 or 3?

Thanks

There is no benefit if none of the tests are 780+. I mean 700s aren't bad, but they don't really show complete mastery. And someone who is good at math shouldn't get a 670 on a math test that is curved so ridiculously.

Take the spanish test if you want, but tis not gonna impress anyone since you are a native speaker.

idk if you were trying to come across as an elitist *******, but you did. I am good at math, however, I am also good at forgetting information when I dont use it often. My calculus course used very very little math IIC material so over a year I forgot it all. I taught myself precalculus in a month so it never really sunk in for much time. what most killed me on the test was my mistake of over using the ti-89.

btw. your 780 or nothing assertion is BS.

but thanks for the advice on the spanish. I was leaning that way.

If you are a native speaker DON'T take the Spanish test. They'd expect you to get an 800 and will pretty much ignore the score altogether. It won't benefit you at ALL.

khoitrinh is really obnoxious.

there is a reason for curves and such; they make it so not everyone gets an 800. it's people like khoitrinh with really high scores that get rejected from all the top schools. no one wants an *ss.

to the OP : there is no real benefit other than having schools over look relatively lower scores. study hard for math 2 and physics!! good luck! and don't listen to khoitrinh.

thank you guys. Its nice to hear caring opinions from decent people.

I wouldn't bother with the spanish if I were you, but take it if you'd like. Don't be discouraged by the remark by khoitrinh. I know a girl, who now goes to Brown, who scores a 630 Math 2 her first time (below average), 670 her second time (average), and then an 800 her third time (outstanding).

So, yeah, if you study, you'll do well. Best of luck to you!
