Benefits from Opportunities - Color Guard vs Job at Aquarium

I’ve been considering both options for a while and compiled a list of positives and negatives for both options, though I am still indecisive.

Color Guard +:

  • It’s good to have extracurriculars
  • The community is really nice
  • It would keep me active after school

Aquarium +:

  • I want to pursue marine biology so the opportunity to work at an aquarium would give me at least minimal experience (since I live in a landlocked state)
  • I want to start earning money for the future, as I won’t be staying in-state for college, most likely
  • I adore working with people and animals, and it could correlate with the Marine Biology Course I’m taking next year

Color Guard -:

  • Time-consuming
  • I get tired afterward (lol)
  • Competitions can be random, on weekends, weekdays, schooldays, whenever - not great for me, as I’m uptight about scheduling
  • Grades were better when I wasn’t in Color Guard

Aquarium -:

  • Would need to get a drivers license before I get the job
  • May only be a volunteer opportunity
  • Time Consuming

Both +:

  • I would get to participate in both of the activities that I love

Both -:

  • I wouldn’t have enough time for homework and my grades would, ultimately, suffer
  • I’m worried that the schedules would collide

I’m taking demanding classes next year (Sophomore Year) and I really hope to make a choice that is able to help me rather than hinder me.
Would you have any advice on which opportunity would be most fulfilling, in your opinion? Which one would seem most appealing for UH Manoa or UCSD?

Could you do one next year and the other the year after?
