I'm currently a freshman at Penn and I'm considering a dual degree in the College and Wharton. What are the benefits of holding a dual College/Wharton degree versus just a degree from the College or just a degree from Wharton? Are the benefits significant enough to be worth the extra work? I'm currently in the College by the way.

Nah...just get one degree and enjoy it, and get a higher GPA. You'll have a much better time and still arrive at the same destination after college...

Would you recommend the same advice for a student thinking about pursuing a dual science degree or possible sub-matriculation?

I actually just dropped out of Vagelos MLS, so you may wondering why I'm asking this question. I'm still happy with my decision to drop, but I'm still not totally discounting the possibility of during Chem + Biochem or possibly submatriculating Chem.

Is there really any great advantage when applying to grad school? I just can't help but feel a little inadequate and just like a normal college student. Yes, I know it's crazy - I'm at Penn, but the feeling to do something extraordinary is still there.

You should use all your newfound free time towards something original and truly extraordinary...more so than just taking more classes ;)
