Selected as a Presidents Scholar too and awarded a half tuition scholarship! Considering I was worried about even getting accepted in the first place this came as an unexpected but very pleasant surprise
@RightCoaster Congrats buddy. I am glad your son got in.
Congrats also to the others who got in and sorrow for those that did not.
My son is away atm so I don’t have results yet.
I hope he comes home soon. I will try to report back. Hoping we got a complete package with aid and everything. He is confident he will get in. If not, he will be in shock. It is the aid package that will keep us away. Bentley is very expensive, even by NE standards.
Is sounds like there is a merit scholarship notice on the portal as @andrewsuni2021 mentioned.
Good luck @MassDaD68 !! Hope you get what you want and need. No mention of any merit $$ for us, so Bentley falls down the chart to other schools that son has been accepted to. It’s a good school, getting harder to get in every year! I think the school is located in a decent spot, nice updated campus, good education! For a business minded student I think it’s a solid choice.
@RightCoaster Thanks. I am sure the school dropped like a rock to the bottom. No aid = crazy price of about $65k/ year. Way too expensive for the typical business degree. It is 2.5x the cost of UMASS Amherst and I can tell you that the typical Bentley students will not be making 2.5X the salary. Not to start and not ever.
@MassDaD68 Yes, I would hope all accepted students to Bentley without merit or other reduction in fees to really consider if the school is worth it compared to in state at U Mass Isenberg. I would say not. However, if you are able to secure a better price for attending Bentley I think it’s a fine choice and I approve. Bentley has a lot of positive attributes.
@RightCoaster Exactly. I think it has advantages given its small size and location and if you have the cash to burn then it is definitely a good choice. I just think for the average middle class family, Isenberg is a better value.
Accepted with Honors and President’s Scholar (1/2 tuition)! The scholarship announcement was right under the admissions decision for me. (Where can I find info for other financial aid such as FAFSA?)
@JGDutchmen thanks! I guess she wasn’t offered any scholarship. On the finance tab, under financial aid notification, I see - “You have no notifications today.” 65k a year is a lot, she will probably will not be attending Bentley.
