@JBros19 I don’t see it either, I’m assuming it means no merit scholarship
If you were accepted for January 2019 are you eligible for Merit? And where would you see that information?

Can someone help me decide between BU and Bentley?
For the merit make sure you scroll all the way down on the acceptance page. It is basically another letter below the acceptance letter. We almost missed ours.
@heisenberg1700. Go to both admitted student days and spend time at each. It is really apples to oranges for these two. One is huge and urban the other small and “countryish”. If you want to enjoy the Boston life Bentley is very close and has buses running there a lot. Both are outstanding business educations. BU is tower living, Bentley smaller dorms. Visit Visit Visit.
My daughter goes to Bentley and loves it. I agree that you should visit because there is a big difference in the “feel” of the 2 schools. I see some folks on these threads bringing Bryant into the equation. That school really is not a competitor of Bentley where Northeastern is. At the accepted students day we went to last year, the kids there told us they were considering Northeastern, Babson, Villa Nova and one said Cornell (but that young man had a full boat to Bentley and no money from Cornell). My daughter loves that the students are very driven at Bentley and very focused. The school lives up to its reputation with respect to internships (in our experience) and the class sizes are small (max of 40 students in a room). There is the trading room where my daughter is going to get Bloomberg certified as a Freshman and is involved with the student run Bentley Investment Group. Can’t say enough good things about Bentley. Fantastic school and my daughter absolutely loves it. Hope this helps.
Got in but not offered any merit. Most likely can’t swing sticker price tuition. Bentley is my top choice…disappointing.
I would love to visit both campuses but unfortunately, I am an International student and will not have the opportunity to visit until after may 1st. @iluvnaples Thanks! Still waiting on a couple more decisions though. Bentley is surely one of my top choices.
@Heisenberg1700
Do the virtual tours on their websites. Also go to Youtube and search for “BU campus tours” and “Bentley campus tours”. I found a lot of videos by students on the campus, dorms, town etc.
Just opened my portal and saw that I was accepted with the Provost Scholarship. I tried looking on Bentley’s website but couldn’t find any information about it. What is the scholarship for and is it something everyone gets?
My son is deciding between Bentley and Umass Amherst Isenberg Business school…the campuses are vastly different as well as the locations…but seem to have comparable business programs…does anyone have any input that may help him make a decision?
Bentley has a really strong internship program. My daughter is telling me that the career services folks have business professionals at the university all the time. The trading room was the first in the nation and is an excellent resource for the students. I don’t know if UMass has one. Also, class sizes are very different between the 2 schools. My daughter has small classes and knows every one of her professors and feels very connected. That does mean that your child will be noticed if he doesn’t show up to class (I went to a very large state university for my undergrad and didn’t know faculty until my junior year). She loves the location and she and her friends take the free Bentley shuttle to Cambridge every weekend. If you have a specific question about Bentley I would be happy to ask my daughter and see how she responds.
Does anyone know if there is a Facebook group for the class of 2022?
@syjabalx7377 yes they do. Benltey University Class of 2022
@iluvnaples Thanks for answering the UMass question. We are the same, choosing between Isenberg and Bentley. I do have a question. How is the food at Bentley? On our tour the dining hall do not jump out at us. UMass food is like eating at a quality restaurant. I know it seems weird to ask, but bad food for 4 years is a bummer.
@emptypockets & @DMM2022 My son is a current sophomore at Bentley. He is thriving there! I am a 1991 UMASS Amherst graduate. If I could do it all over again - I would have chosen a small school exactly like Bentley (is today). His education will be by far better then mine ever was. I was a number at an extremely large university. He is an individual on a small intimate campus. He knows his professors well. His professors know him by name. I was taught by numerous TA’s (graduate students). I had no idea who my Chancellor even was. My son has had numerous personal conversations with the President of Bentley. She is on campus and at events all the time mingling with the students. My son is currently weighing which internship to accept this summer. My daughter will be applying next year. I will feel extremely blessed if she is accepted and gets to learn at Bentley like her brother. My children will go far in their careers due to a Bentley education. Yes I have heard that UMASS DC’S (dining commons) have come along ways since 1991. And yes, Bentley’s food is not award winning. But students choose Bentley for an amazing education. If they crave a change in menu - then they hop on a (free) Bentley bus to Harvard Square. If the cost of attending for your family are similar in price for Bentley & UMASS - then I would urge you to give Bentley a thorough once over on accepted students day and then decide. I know it has been many years since my days at UMASS - however my kids are friends with a few kids in our home town who attend UMASS. While they are very happy there, when I spoke to them, I have found out that it really hasn’t changed all that much over the years - except for the food and the UMASS students now need to buy a clicker to participate in their 300 student gen ed classes. Hmmm. No clickers needed at Bentley - ever.
I asked my daughter and she said the food in the main dining hall is ok. It’s not horrible but it’s not like the food she eats at home (that gave me a chuckle!). However, she said it’s easy to get creative and when the staff was asking for ideas, she submitted one and they started making her suggestion. So I do think they aim to please to some degree. She said the sushi is excellent and likes the burrito place on lower campus. There is one main dining hall with lots of smaller areas to eat elsewhere. She enjoys having unlimited swipes so if she only wants a piece of fruit, she can grab something and not worry about losing swipes. If she has anything more specific I will certainly post it. Hope that helps.
I would second @Stuffedquahog’s comments about Bentley. It is fantastic. I really do think it’s worth the price of admission if you can afford it. The students do very well with job placement upon graduation and there is life time career service available for graduates if they want to use it later at any point. I think that’s a pretty nice thing to offer especially since their career services is ranked so highly by Princeton Review.
Just to clarify - I think the Bentley food venues on campus are great! Seasonings (the dining hall) offers a huge variety of hot meal options plus a huge salad bar and a popular grill as well. They also have theme food nights. (My son’s freshman year actually featured a lobster night - claws and all). The students have discretionary dollars they use at La Cava on upper plus there is Einstein’s bagels in the library, a very popular burrito place on lower, Russos market in the student center plus starbucks, a dunkin, and a tea shop too. My son grabs fruit all the time from Seasonings for afternoon and evening snacks. He also grabs “to go” bagged lunches (with his unlimited swipes) - either to use as an actual lunch in between classes or as a snack in the evening. When I said the food was not award winning in my earlier post - I meant I know that UMASS has received an impressive Princeton Review ranking for their dining services. I agree with @iluvnaples, I am personally more impressed with Bentley’s high Princeton review ranking in Career Services (opposed to a dining ranking). I admit, I am a little biased - I really love Bentley.
