Berkeley and NYU Stern BPE

Hey guys, basically, my college choice is pretty much down to these two, although UVA is still slightly in the mix.

I'm from the the Mid-Atlantic, so money is not going to play a factor here as it will be relatively the same everywhere. After graduation I want to either work in Consulting, Investment Banking, or something else business related. I possibly may want to attend law school after working for a while, maybe a MBA it depends.

At UC Berkeley I've been admitted under the political economy major, which I happen to really like a lot. I loved the campus, Berkeley and San Fran, and how there are big pac-12 sports and a lively party scene. I would consider trying to get into the Haas School along with my political economy major. For me, the major cons I see with Berkeley is that its so far away from home, it has humongous class size, lack of personal attention or advising, and I feel that getting a job in NYC would be much more difficult, esp if I stay in the political economy major. The big pluses are def. the great campus life, prestige, and weather.

At NYU, I've been admitted to the Stern School, but more importantly, the degree program in Business and Political Economy. While this is in Stern, it is much more liberal arts focused (which i like) and studies int'l political economy in tandem with its effect to business. I would get to spend a whole year in London, and a semester in Shanghai. The big pros is that its close to home, and I feel that it will be much easier to get a great job out of college from here. But, I feel like I will be missing the great campus life at Berkeley.

With UVA, it was great, but I don't see myself loving the kids there as much as I did at Berkeley or NYU.

Basically, is Berkeley's wonderful faculty and academic prestige worth the huge classes and lack of attention? How hard is it to get a job in NYC, because most San Fran jobs are tech industry related (esp the IB's)

Happen to see this today. Wondering where did you go at the end. My D is in the exact same situation like you were two years ago. Want to know. Thanks!
