Are they not? I should add, it’s part of the beauty of the place too. Especially during spring quarter, when it’s nice to longboard back from classes (downhill) in the sun, listening to some chill beats, with not a care in the world. I just never really found others who wanted to balance that with, say, documentary marathons.

Because that is what people I’ve talked to who have studied at both places have told me.

That seems like the logical conclusion to me, seeing as Berkeley and Stanford grad programs are roughly on the same level in terms of academics/research and weather.

A) It’s more than “very, very few.” B) I like it fine here. I might stay for a coterm. Don’t act like you know me. You don’t.

Many of my posts on here are critical because I want to show both sides of things. Most Stanford CC posters just focus on the positives, understandably given that we all want to sell the school. I think it’s nice to offer some balance.

That doesn’t mean I’m wrong. You should know that.

No, they’re not.

That’s your shortcoming, not Stanford’s. (In my experience it wasn’t hard finding people who share your interests and who would want to engage in them with you casually.)

Right, so it *must *be correct…

Notice that I said “who don’t **seem **to like Stanford.” Whether or not you do is irrelevant; the point is that you seem as though you don’t.

That’s great, and other posters and I have done the same. But we post about actual negatives, not made-up ones or ones that only a minuscule portion of the student body thinks.

I’m not saying it means you’re wrong, but rather that most students don’t share your experience. Hence, “the overwhelming majority of students would disagree with his remarks.”

I’ve wondered for a long time whether your lukewarm attitude toward Stanford was rooted in its strong liberalism (which you’ve criticized before), but over time I’ve had to conclude that you’re simply one of the few students who’s not as happy with Stanford as most (or at least, that’s how you seem). That’s fine - I’ve never held the belief that Stanford is for everyone, as it most certainly isn’t. But I will point out where your dislikes don’t coincide with most students’ - otherwise, it would be misleading.
