The subject says it all.. Which undergrad is better for pre-medicine: UCLA or Berkeley. I'm having a major dilemma. I know that it doesn't matter which school I go to.. but still.. Is it hard to get a good GPA at berkeley?

Yes. I have several pre-med friends at Berkeley. They work really hard.

As for the rest of your question, you pretty much already answered it.

To be fair, I don't know of a lot of pre-meds (successful ones at least) who don't work really hard.

Your best way of finding out, though, is to contact someone at the schools. If you can find the pre-med website or e-mail address of the pre-med advisor, they might be able to put you in contact with a current student and you can ask him/her about the programs at the individual schools. I'm sorry I can't help more, but I'm on the east coast and know nothing about any of the California schools (either for medical school or undergraduate). The advice that is typically given, though, is to go where you think you'd be happiest, and I certainly think that's a good idea.
