I have narrowed down my choice of college to attend between UC Berkeley and Wellesley College. I really like aspects of both but I'm having a hard time deciding which one to attend, especially since they are both so different. I will be visiting both again and fin aid is not an issue. Are there any insights or advice anyone could give about the schools to help me with my choice? thanks

There’s such a huge difference between the two.

I imagine Wellesley has a way different vibe…all-women, east coast style but still probably diverse in terms of where students come from. At Berkeley, nearly everyone’s from California and it’s somewhat of a commuter school since a lot of people have family nearby. You won’t have that feeling at Wellesley, which almost definitely has a tighter community and small classes from day one. Some people get bored of small schools though. Also: Berkeley the city is probably larger than Wellesley (a suburb?) and accordingly probably isn’t as safe, but there’s a lot more food options and urban distractions.

Where do you live? And what are you majoring in?

I live near San Diego and I’m undecided about my major (as of now I’m thinking about either history or linguistics)
